Muslim Canadian Congress Calls for Burka Ban

The Muslim Canadian Congress has called on the federal government to ban the wearing of the burka in public. The national organization claims that the burka has nothing to do with Islam and is oppressive and sexist. Others claim that wearing the burka is a religious freedom protected by the Charter.
