600 Ontario schools to offer full-day kindergarten this fall

As of September 2010, 600 Ontario elementary schools will offer full-day kindergarten, sources have told the Toronto Star. In an announcement expected Tuesday, Premier Dalton McGuinty will explain the 1.5 Billion dollar initiative, which is expected to be fully implemented by 2015.

Children’s Second Shots Unnecessary

The Public Health Agency of Canada claim healthy children aged three to nine do not necessarily need a second shot of the H1N1 vaccination to be protected. Those extra shots can instead be delivered to more people. Dr. David Butler-Jones, the head of the Public Health Agency, called the decision “educated pragmatism.”
